3. Abstract
This open invited track emphasizes cutting-edge methods for effectively managing active distribution networks within Smart Grids. As distribution networks increasingly embrace innovative technologies—such as Demand Response (DR), Energy Storage Systems (ESSs), Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) interactions, and renewable energy sources like photovoltaic (PV) systems and wind farms—they are evolving into complex systems that require sophisticated solutions. The rising importance of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) like DR, renewables, and ESSs as essential control mechanisms in Active Distribution Networks (ADNs) is transforming the landscape. Unlike traditional passive distribution networks, ADNs enable dynamic, bidirectional power flow, creating opportunities for enhanced efficiency and resilience. However, the integration of these DERs also presents challenges, introducing nonlinearities and uncertainties that demand the development of advanced management strategies. To unlock the full potential of ADNs and ensure their seamless operation, innovative approaches are essential. This track invites participants to contribute to shaping the future of smart, efficient energy distribution.
